The tragedy of the Sovans

One of the unique creatures of the ancient forest was the owl — a horned monster with the head of an owl. Despite its creepy appearance, this beast was very kind.
 
Sovans, as a rule, settled next to the Rukh tribes and performed the role of human horses.
When people attacked, the Sovans rushed to protect the Rukhs, but to no avail. The magicians quickly dealt with the animals, and after the massacre they made stuffed animals out of them. One of them has survived to this day: it can be seen in the royal treasury.
