Humans were the first race of the Sphere to master shipbuilding and began expanding to other continents. Soon the demons joined them. In order to dominate the sea, Vagrot created separate units of pirates who were supposed to prevent people from moving on the water. The most famous of them was Solomitus Kahren, also known as Sol.
 
It was a loyal demon that fought fiercely against humans. He sank hundreds of human ships, looted dozens of camps. He was considered a real menace of the seas, until one day his luck changed.
 
People have started a rumor that a ship with precious stones and valuable tomes will soon go to Ericuria. Sol didn't think it could be a trap, so he went after a large prey.
And there really was a ship. Except it was a high-speed decoy vessel that lured the pirate into a narrow strait. There, the people began shelling Sol's ship with coastal cannons. The pirates wanted to leave, but the huge ship blocked the way back.
 
The demon knew that the ship was going to the bottom, but its crew could still be saved. He raised a magic shield, which allowed the demons to put on the air of Nerode and go underwater on merkons. Sol himself accepted death with honor. His body was never found. In memory of him there was only a hat.
