Tambourine of the Northern shaman

Every shaman should have his own tambourine, this is the law. The tambourine is the voice of the shaman, his companion and the first guide to the spirit world. This is not just a flat drum with a beater, oh no, a tambourine is a living being, or rather, a dwelling for a small spirit. This is so, at least if we are talking about a real shamanic tambourine, and not about a souvenir craft bought from a passing peddler in the Village of the Frost Tribe.
 
These tambourines, real and souvenir, have a lot in common. For example, you can knock on them the same way. And they also have a beautiful fur upholstery and a wooden crosspiece to make it convenient to hold the tool. Well, the drawing, yes.
 
The drawing on the tambourine membrane is literally a story told. The most ancient tambourines depicted scenes of hunting and everyday life, painted various animals, trees, mountains, rivers, stars… But then the plots began to change. Shamans no longer depicted small sketches, they were trying to draw the very structure of the world! Someone succeeded, someone did not, but you and I hardly have the right to judge how competently some shaman transferred to a tightly stretched skin what was revealed to him during his travels to other worlds. One thing is for sure – the more powerful the shaman, the more accurately he remembered and reproduced what he saw.
 
And in front of us now is not a souvenir craft, it's a real tambourine of the supreme shaman! He was found in an abandoned visionary hut at the top of the Fangs of Frost. Where the old man went will forever remain a mystery. Maybe he went to the north, or maybe the spirits finally called him to them, and there, in other worlds, he no longer needs a guide.
 
Anyway, the shaman went on his last endless journey, and his faithful assistant was left alone. It is not suitable for such a powerful object to be buried under the snows of the Valley of Cold, so now the tambourine of the supreme shaman will be handed over to reliable hands. Maybe it's yours.
 
It is unlikely that you will be able to use the tambourine for its intended purpose, and it is unlikely that it will open the way to other worlds for an outsider, but the spirit living in it will definitely be grateful for the rescue from snow captivity and careful care of its home. I bet this thing will bring its new owner a little bit of luck. And who knows, maybe he will reveal to him the secrets of our world.
