The history of Gong-mu

What you will not hear in the Tavern of the Infernal Song from the guests after a few mugs of strong ale.

The demon Garlinor told everyone about the other world, where the City-Over-the-Abyss is located — the most beautiful place where demons live. As proof, he showed everyone some strange thing, and then told the legends that he heard there.

One of the legends was associated with an unusual dragon, similar to a snake. The locals called him Gun-mu. Garlinor wanted to know more about him, so he also sat in a local tavern and asked the regulars there about the dragon. It turned out that Gong-mu was once an ordinary demon mercenary. He went to the most dangerous crossings and protected caravans from bandits and monsters. At the same time, he took for his work only as much as was needed for food and lodging.

After Gun-mu died in battle, guarding the caravan, the gods of that world accepted him into their pantheon. Having gained the power of the gods, Gong-mu turned into a huge dragon, which travelers worship.

Garlinor told this story many times, but no one believed him. Because there are no dragons that look like snakes. In the Sphere, at least, no one has met such people for sure.
